Position Summary We are seeking a highly analytical and technical Senior Workday Compensation & Performance to join our team. In this dual-focused role, you will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Compensation (Core and Advanced) and Payroll configurations. You will lead the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of these modules while ensuring data integrity, system efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate bridges the gap between functional HR strategy and technical system execution, playing a pivotal role in the annual merit cycle, payroll processing audits, and ongoing system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Compensation (Core & Advanced)

- System Configuration: Lead the design, configuration, and testing of Workday Compensation business processes, including compensation packages, eligibility rules, salary plans, and grade profiles.
- Annual Cycles:



Manage the end-to-end technical execution of the Annual Compensation Review (Merit, Bonus, and Stock) using Workday Advanced Compensation. Configuration includes merit matrices, bonus plan calculations, and statements.
- Job Architecture: Maintain the job catalog, including job profiles, job families, and EEO classifications, ensuring alignment with organizational structure.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve complex compensation issues related to proration, eligibility, and retro-activity.

2. Workday Benefits Configuration

- Configure benefit plans including:
- Medical, dental, vision
- Retirement plans (401k/pension)
- Life & disability
- Flexible spending accounts
- Configure benefit eligibility rules and event rules.
- Manage open enrollment setup and testing.
- Configure benefit business processes and life event workflows.
- Support carrier integrations and benefits vendor file audits (EIB/API).

Workday Absence Management

- Configure absence plans including:
- Time off
- Leave of absence (LOA)
- Accrual rules
- Set up accrual calculations, carryover rules, and eligibility.
- Configure leave workflows and approval routing.
- Ensure compliance alignment with regional leave regulations.

Reporting, Analytics & Integrations

- Report Writing: Design and maintain complex custom reports and dashboards (using Report Writer and Calculated Fields) to support compensation analysis, payroll auditing, and executive decision-making.
- Data Integrity:



Perform regular data audits to ensure accuracy across compensation and payroll data fields; execute EIB loads for mass data updates.
- Release Management: Lead the review and testing of Workday bi-annual releases for Compensation and Payroll modules; recommend recent features to improve efficiency.
- Security: Assist in maintaining role-based security permissions related to compensation and payroll visibility.

Implementation & Optimization

- Lead requirement gathering workshops.
- Produce functional design documents (FDDs).
- Perform configuration, unit testing, and system integration testing (SIT).
- Support Workday bi-annual release testing.
- Identify opportunities for automation and system efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications

- 6–10+ years of HRIS / Workday experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on configuration in:
- Workday Compensation (Core & Advanced)
- Benefits
- Absence
- Strong experience in Workday reporting and dashboard design.
- Experience configuring complex eligibility rules and calculated fields.
- Full lifecycle Workday implementation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

- Active Workday certifications in:
- Compensation
- Advanced Compensation
- Benefits
- Absence
- Experience in multi-country or global deployments.
- Consulting background (client-facing experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of payroll integration touchpoints.
