Role Summary The Plant Head will be responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations for the Automotive Machining Division. This role drives operational excellence across high-precision CNC/VMC machining setups, ensuring strict compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949), achieving production targets, controlling operational costs, and maintaining a high level of plant safety and workforce management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Production Management

- Oversee daily plant operations including machining (CNC, VMC, SPM operations), assembly, maintenance, tool room, and dispatch.
- Drive production schedules to ensure 100% On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery to Tier-1/OEM automotive clients.
- Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and optimize machine utilization.

1. Quality Control & Continuous Improvement

- Ensure strict adherence to automotive quality frameworks (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce scrap rates, rework, and cycle times.
- Champion scrap/rejection control measures to lower customer PPM.

1. Tooling & Machining Technical Leadership

- Supervise fixture design, cutting tool selection, cycle time optimization, and tooling cost reductions.




- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for CNC/VMC machines to minimize unplanned downtime.

1. Financial & Cost Management

- Prepare and manage annual operational budgets (Opex & Capex).
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives in energy, tooling consumables, scrap, and direct labor overheads.

1. People Management & EHS Compliance

- Lead, direct, and mentor cross-functional teams including production engineers, quality managers, and shop floor technicians.
- Maintain a culture of zero tolerance for workplace safety violations (EHS) and foster active employee engagement.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering (Diploma in Mechanical with extensive experience may be considered).
- Experience: 15 to 20+ years of total experience in auto-component manufacturing, with at least 5+ years in a senior plant leadership/Plant Head role.

- Core Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth exposure to CNC turning, VMC/HMC machining, cutting tool selection, and SPM setups.
- Production of precision turned/machined auto components (engine parts, transmission, chassis components, etc.).
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and shop-floor digitization tools.
- Quality Certifications: Proven experience managing IATF 16949, TPM, and Lean Six Sigma environments.
