Job Title Head of Planning Architecture Department Design Development Project Planning Location Kolkata HO Reports To Chief Operating Officer Managing Director Director of Projects Employment Type Full-time Position Summary The Head of Planning Architecture is responsible for leading the architectural vision and strategic planning of all development projects This role involves oversight of master planning conceptual and detailed design urban planning and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality sustainable projects The candidate will provide thought leadership in architecture and urban design while aligning all design efforts with the company s business goals and regulatory requirements Key Responsibilities Lead the planning and design strategy for all development projects including residential commercial mixed-use and infrastructure initiatives Oversee master planning urban design architectural development and landscape architecture to ensure cohesiveness and design excellence Manage and direct internal and external teams of architects planners consultants and engineers Ensure compliance with all local and international building codes zoning regulations and sustainability requirements Review and approve design proposals plans presentations and technical drawings Coordinate with development project management construction legal and marketing teams to integrate design goals with business objectives Drive innovation in design with an emphasis on sustainability livability cost-effectiveness and user experience Develop and manage budgets timelines and resources related to planning and architectural functions Represent the company in planning board meetings design reviews and regulatory authority interactions Stay current with global architectural trends recent technologies and urban design best practices Requirements Education Experience Bachelor s and Master s degree in Architecture Urban Planning or related field Registered architect preferred Minimum of 18 years of experience in architecture and planning with at least 5 years in a leadership role Proven experience with large-scale developments including residential townships commercial hubs and mixed-use projects Skills Competencies Strong leadership strategic thinking and project management abilities Excellent understanding of architectural design processes urban planning and regulatory frameworks Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Strong communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills Proficiency in design software AutoCAD Revit SketchUp Adobe Suite and planning tools GIS BIM Preferred Qualities Global exposure or experience with international design standards LEED IGBC or equivalent green building accreditation Strong aesthetic sensibility with a practical understanding of construction and materials
