Role Description The Physics Mentor will provide remote, part-time online tutoring sessions to school-age students, helping them understand core physics concepts and apply them to problem-solving. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting interactive lessons, explaining theories and formulas in simple terms, guiding students through practice questions, and offering timely feedback on assignments.

The mentor will track student progress, adjust teaching approaches to different learning styles, and communicate regularly with learners (and when needed, caregivers) about goals and outcomes. The role also involves maintaining a skilled online presence,



being punctual for scheduled sessions, and using digital tools and platforms to deliver effective, engaging instruction.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of school-level Physics and related Mathematics, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible way.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring students in STEM subjects, ideally in an online environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, patience, and the ability to adapt explanations to different learning styles.
- Comfort with digital tools and online teaching platforms, including video conferencing, interactive whiteboards, and document sharing.
- Organizational skills for lesson planning, time management, and tracking student progress over multiple sessions.
- Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a Physics, Engineering, or related STEM program (advanced coursework or teaching certification is a plus).
- Reliable internet connection, a quiet workspace, and a commitment to maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
