We are seeking a VMware to Hyper-V Migration Engineer with 2-4 years of experience in virtualization technologies and infrastructure migration. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in planning, executing, and supporting VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V migration projects while ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity. Exposure to Python-based Web API development is an added advantage.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
Experience in planning, executing, and validating VMware to Hyper-V migration activities.
Knowledge of virtual machine provisioning, migration strategies, backup, and disaster recovery.
Ability to troubleshoot virtualization, networking, and storage-related issues.
Familiarity with Windows Server administration and virtualization best practices.
Experience with infrastructure performance monitoring and optimization.
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in Python Web API development.
Knowledge of automation and scripting using Python or PowerShell.
Exposure to cloud platforms and hybrid virtualization environments is an advantage.
Understanding of IT infrastructure management and system administration.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute the migration of virtual machines from VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V.
Assess existing virtual infrastructure and recommend migration strategies.
Configure, deploy, and maintain Hyper-V environments.
Perform migration testing, validation, and post-migration support.
Troubleshoot virtualization, storage, networking, and performance-related issues.
Develop and maintain migration documentation, procedures, and technical reports.
Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to ensure successful migration projects.
Support automation initiatives and contribute to process improvements using scripting or APIs where applicable.
