About AtumX

AtumX is a Chennai-based deep-tech startup (incubated at Anna University) building STEM robotics kits that make hands-on engineering learning accessible to students across India. We design, build, and manufacture our own hardware — from custom PCBs to child-safe robotics toys — and we're scaling fast.

We're hiring a Mechatronics Engineer to own product development end-to-end: from CAD design and circuit selection to embedded firmware and working prototypes. What You'll Do

Design and develop STEM hardware products from concept → working prototype

Create mechanical designs in CAD (Fusion 360 preferred)

Design and review electronic circuits; select components; basic PCB review

Write embedded firmware in Arduino / ESP32 / MicroPython / C/C++

Build, test, and iterate prototypes for durability and child safety

Debug hardware and firmware issues independently

Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for prototyping and production

Validate that each product is teachable, reproducible, and secure for kids to use independently

Partner with the Curriculum team to align hardware with the learning experience What You Bring

B.E./B.Tech in Mechatronics,



Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field

1–3 years of hands-on product/prototype development experience

Proficiency in CAD (Fusion 360 preferred)

Working knowledge of electronics component selection and basic circuit/PCB design

Coding experience in C/C++, Arduino, or MicroPython A builder's mindset — you'd rather prototype something than just spec it

Awareness of cost, manufacturability, and child-safety constraints in design decisions Nice to Have

3D printing, laser cutting, or CNC experience

Prior work in ed-tech, STEM kits, or consumer electronics

IoT experience (Bluetooth/WiFi modules)
