Introduction

Do you want to be part of the team that revolutionizes resource exploration through quantum sensing?

Atomionics is working on quantum sensors based on atom-interferometry where atoms are cooled down to almost absolute zero using lasers. At such cold temperatures, the wave nature of atoms becomes prominent, which allows us to precisely measure the forces acting on them. This opens up a wide range of applications, including paving a path in the energy transition to zero-carbon and transforming resource exploration and geophysical surveying.

Headquartered in Singapore, Atomionics is now expanding its footprint to India, with our India operations anchored in the Amaravati Quantum Valley. As part of our India team, you will work closely with our Singapore headquarters, collaborating across borders while building deep tech capabilities locally, with our India team playing a critical role in field deployment of our Quantum Gravimeters.

At Atomionics, you will get the chance to design, prototype, test, refine, finalize, and produce your designs, developing solutions that improve our sensor's performance while making it compact and robust for field deployment. You will also play a critical role in supporting deployment and conducting field trials with Quantum Gravimeters. We are looking for an Mechanical Design Engineer who:

- wants the freedom to innovate by being involved in deep tech research
- is excited by the prospect of working within an interdisciplinary team comprised of physicists, electronics engineers, and software engineers

Responsibilities

- Conduct field trials of atom-interferometry based Quantum Gravimeters, supporting on-site setup and troubleshooting
- Design and assemble mechanical subsystems for Atomionics' quantum sensors
- Support the integration of mechanical designs with electronics, mechatronics, thermal, laser optics, and vacuum components
- Prepare CAD models, drawings, and assembly instructions to send to vendors for manufacture, including CNC, sheet metal, 3D printing, and cable harnesses
- Support DFM & DFA optimization
- Hands-on assembly of precision metal and optical components

About you

- A driven individual with creative problem-solving skills, an analytical mind, and persistence
- Highly skilled with CAD software: Autodesk Inventor / Solidworks etc
- Deeply knowledgeable in manufacturing techniques, surface finishing and assembly
- Skilled in GD&T; for engineering drawings including tolerance stacks
- Skilled with hands-on fabrication including machining lathe, CNC, laser cutter, 3D printers
- Willing to travel and support field deployment activities, including work in on-site or remote conditions

Even better if you have

- Experience in thermal design, including heat sinks, heat pipes, liquid heat exchangers, peltiers and FEA for thermal simulations
- Experience in designing straightforward PCBs & cable harnesses
- Been through a full product development cycle for a device with a complex system architecture

Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
