Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Assembly and Test Engineer role based in Bengaluru. The engineer will assemble electro-optic surveillance systems and mechanical subassemblies according to engineering drawings, CAD models, and standard operating procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing mechanical integration, alignment, and fitment checks, conducting functional and performance tests on assembled systems, and documenting test results and issues.
The role involves troubleshooting mechanical problems, coordinating with design and production teams for corrective actions,
and supporting preventive and corrective maintenance of assembly fixtures and test setups. The engineer will also participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance reliability, manufacturability, and safety of mechanical assemblies.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, integration, and testing.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for interpreting drawings and models, and providing feedback for design improvements.
Experience in inspection, measurement, and quality checks using appropriate tools and techniques.
Background in maintenance of mechanical systems, fixtures, and test equipment to ensure reliable operation.
Exposure to automotive or similar high-precision mechanical domains is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, standards, and test procedures.
Robust problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality.
Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
Willingness to work on-site in a fast-paced, defense and aerospace-oriented environment and comply with relevant security and compliance requirements.
