Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

- Implement preventive maintenance schedules for production lines, utilities (boilers, chillers, compressors), and packaging machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns rapidly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues to prevent future failures.

2. Utilities & Facility Management

- Oversee uninterrupted functioning of utilities such as water treatment plants, effluent treatment plants, refrigeration systems, air compressors, electrical networks, and fire safety equipment.
- Monitor and optimize consumption of energy, water, and fuel to reduce operating costs.

3. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

- Maintain required inventory levels of critical spare parts and consumables.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop vendors for cost-effective procurement of quality spares.

4. Team Management

- Lead and supervise engineers, technicians, and fitters in the maintenance department.
- Allocate work, assess team performance, and provide training to enhance technical skills.




- Develop skill matrices and succession plans for key technical roles.

5. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure safety standards and statutory compliance for mechanical, electrical, pressure vessels, and boiler operations.
- Conduct periodic safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Implement TPM or similar continuous improvement systems.

6. Projects & Equipment Upgrades

- Support installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of current machinery or production lines.
- Evaluate opportunities for automation, energy efficiency, and equipment upgrades.

7. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown analyses, utility consumption reports, and statutory records.
- Prepare annual maintenance budgets and present cost reports to management.

8. Coordination

- Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
- Liaise with OEMs, external service providers, and vendors for AMCs and repair activities.
