Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Production Support Engineer to provide L2/L3 support for critical enterprise applications running on IBM Mainframe environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in incident management, batch monitoring, job scheduling, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring high availability of business-critical systems. Key Responsibilities

Provide 24x7 production support for mainframe applications and infrastructure.

Monitor and manage batch jobs, schedulers, and production workflows.

Investigate and resolve production incidents, abends, and job failures.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and business teams for issue resolution.

Handle service requests, change requests, and problem management activities.

Ensure adherence to SLA, incident response, and escalation procedures.

Participate in release and deployment activities during maintenance windows.

Prepare operational documentation, runbooks, and support reports.

Support performance tuning and system optimization initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5 –8 years of experience in Mainframe Production Support.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Valuable understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work in rotational shifts and support critical production environments.

Preferred

Skills

Experience in Banking / Financial Services domain.

Exposure to automation and scripting.

Knowledge of MQ, FTP, and file transmission processes.
