Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Linux Device Driver Developer based in Hyderabad. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Linux kernel-level and user-space device drivers for semiconductor and embedded platforms. The developer will work closely with hardware, firmware, and system software teams to understand specifications, bring up new hardware, and ensure secure integration with the operating system.

Day-to-day responsibilities include coding, debugging, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis of driver-related issues, as well as creating technical documentation and participating in code reviews.



The role may also involve contributing to board support packages, supporting customer integrations, and collaborating with global teams on complex, multi-site projects.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in C programming and data structures for low-level and systems software development.

Hands-on experience with Linux kernel internals, including device drivers, memory management, interrupts, and synchronization.

Experience developing and debugging Linux device drivers for subsystems such as PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, networking, or storage.

Familiarity with embedded systems, SoC architectures, board bring-up, and hardware–software integration.

Proficiency with debugging tools and techniques (e.g., GDB, printk, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes) and performance profiling.

Experience working with version control, build systems, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Make, CMake, Jenkins) for collaborative development.

Ability to read and interpret hardware specifications, datasheets, and schematics, and to work closely with hardware and firmware teams.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable code in a fast-paced environment.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document designs, APIs, and usage clearly.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
