Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU), Pune invites applications from accomplished industry leaders for the position of Library Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, organize, and shelve library books and other learning resources according to the library classification system.

Manage book issue, return, renewal, and reservation transactions using the library management system.

Maintain accurate records of books, journals, periodicals, and library circulation.

Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure proper stock verification of library resources.

Assist students, faculty, and researchers in locating books, reference materials, and digital resources.

Process recent books, including labeling, barcoding, stamping, and cataloging support.

Ensure the proper care, preservation,



and maintenance of library materials and facilities.

Support the maintenance of digital library resources, online databases, and library registers.

Prepare routine reports on library usage, circulation, and inventory, and coordinate with vendors as required.

Ensure compliance with university library policies and perform other duties assigned by the University Librarian.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc.) or an equivalent qualification.

A Master's degree in Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.) is preferred.

Prior experience in a university, college, or institutional library is desirable.
