Lead Engineer - Mechanical with Water, Effluent & Sewage treatment plant knowledge, shall be able to perform the roles and responsibilities as below for tendering as well as detail engineering stage:
- Lead and mentor a team of Mechanical Engineers
- Lead the design development of Mechanical component in Desalination, Water, Effluent & Sewage treatment projects
- Planning of engineering deliverables, execution, resource planning and allocation
- Collaborate with other disciplines for proper integration of mechanical systems
- Design deliverable review and validation
- Lead continuous improvement in team productivity and skill set
- Piping design with Hydraulics Modelling, Surge & CFD analysis
- Rotating equipment design skill
Candidate should have hands-on experience in Water, Effluent & Sewage treatment plant, Transmission & distribution pipeline projects in the Middle East and Africa region. Core responsibility shall be to lead a team of mechanical engineers interacting with consultants and clients for approval of engineering deliverables and Material submittals. Should have experience in dealing with international vendors for various mechanical equipment evaluation and selection.
Qualification
- B.Tech (Mechanical)
as a minimum with Experience of 12-15 years in Mechanical engineering with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge of Mechanical engineering principles, best practices, and various international codes i.e. ASME / BS EN / ISO / QCS / NWC etc.
- Proficiency in Plant engineering for preparation of plant layout, GA drawing, Piping layout, Pipeline drawings etc.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulics & transient analysis through WaterGEMS / WaterHammer / SAP software.
- Hands-on experience in reviewing the Hydraulics / transient analysis reports, Stress analysis reports (CAESAR II) etc.
- Participation in various workshops e.g. HAZOP etc. with clients and consultants
- Proficient in Vendor engineering by reviewing vendor offers, technical comparison with recommendations to the Procurement team for mechanical equipment, and detailed review of post-order documents
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to mentor and develop team members
- Creative mindset for design optimization and continuous improvement
