Java Tech Lead AI-First Full Stack Engineering

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Java Tech Lead with a strong background in full stack application development and hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in Java technologies, React, cloud platforms, and DevOps with an AI-first engineering approach to accelerate software delivery, improve code quality, and mentor development teams in modern engineering practices. This role requires a technical leader who is passionate about building scalable, cloud-native applications while driving the adoption of AI-powered development workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and modern web technologies.
- Champion an AI-first software development approach by effectively utilising tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent AI coding assistants.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable microservices-based architectures.
- Build and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects across relational and NoSQL databases.
- Apply strong Object-Oriented Analysis, Design, and Programming (OOA/OOD/OOP) principles to build maintainable and reusable software solutions.
- Collaborate within Agile teams while driving DevOps best practices, CI/CD automation, and release management.
- Integrate applications with leading cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Mentor and guide development teams on engineering best practices, AI-assisted coding techniques, code quality,



and architectural standards.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions to ensure scalable and high-quality software delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Core Development:

- Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, REST APIs, JSON, JavaScript, React, and Thymeleaf.
- Proven experience in designing and developing enterprise-grade full stack applications.

2. Cloud & Containerisation:

- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Konvoy, GitHub, and container orchestration.
- Experience deploying and managing cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Database

Technologies:

- Strong expertise in SQL, database optimisation, functions, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases.

4.

Software

Engineering:

- Robust understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design, and Programming (OOA/OOD/OOP).
- Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and reusable software architectures.

5. DevOps & Agile:

- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated deployments, and DevOps practices.

6. AI-First Development (Mandatory):

- Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI-powered software development tools.
- Ability to leverage AI-assisted coding for development, debugging, testing, documentation, and productivity improvements.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience leading development teams or technical pods.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience building cloud-native, microservices-based enterprise applications.
- Passion for continuous learning and driving AI adoption within engineering teams.
