We are hiring the Insurance product Configurator responsible for configuring and implementing insurance products, pricing models, underwriting rules, and workflows in Verisk/Sequel Rulebook. Collaborates with Underwriting, Actuarial, Product, IT, Operations, and Change teams within the London Market and specialty insurance sector. Translates complex Excel-based pricing models and underwriting guidelines into structured Rulebook configurations.
Requires robust analytical and business analysis skills, hands-on Rulebook (or similar platform) experience, and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders to deliver governed, high-quality solutions.
Rulebook Configuration & Product Build
- Configure insurance products, pricing models, underwriting, referral, eligibility rules, and workflows in Rulebook.
- Convert Excel pricing models into accurate Rulebook configurations.
- Configure rating tables, premium calculations, validations, and business rules.
- Maintain product structures, user journeys, and reusable configuration components changes.
Business & Domain Analysis
- Gather and analyze requirements from Underwriting, Actuarial, Product, and Operations teams.
- Translate business needs into Rulebook configurations and specifications.
- Validate pricing models, identify gaps, and assess impacts of product or pricing
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Lead workshops with business stakeholders and SMEs.
- Communicate rule logic, configuration decisions, and testing outcomes.
- Coordinate across business, IT, testing, and delivery teams while providing project updates.
Testing, Validation & Governance
- Perform configuration, regression, and scenario testing.
- Validate Rulebook outputs against Excel pricing models and business rules.
Your Profile
Required Experience
- 610+ years in insurance technology, product configuration, rating engines, or business rules implementation.
- 2+ years of Verisk/Sequel Rulebook experience (or similar rules/rating platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, IBM ODM, Drools, or FICO Blaze).
- Experience translating Excel pricing models into system configurations.
- Strong knowledge of P&C;/Specialty Insurance, London Market, Agile delivery, UAT, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.
- Hands-on Rulebook configuration and business rules implementation.
- Strong Excel skills with pricing models, formulas, and calculations.
- Knowledge of XML, rule logic, validations, and configuration testing.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and clear technical documentation.
