About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler to design and maintain scalable, high-performance data models that support enterprise data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, with hands-on experience in dimensional modeling, data architecture, and SQL.

Experience in Banking and Financial Services is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications and analytical platforms.
- Create robust dimensional models using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema methodologies for Data Warehouse solutions.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data models.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Data Engineers, and application development teams to define data structures.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices.
- Define source-to-target mappings, data lineage, metadata, and data dictionaries.
- Conduct impact analysis for schema changes and ensure minimal disruption to downstream systems.
- Support Data Warehouse modernization, reporting, BI, and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Optimize database schemas for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and adherence to enterprise Data Governance standards.
- Participate in architecture reviews, solution design discussions, and database optimization activities.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, mappings, and metadata repositories.
- Work closely with ETL developers to ensure accurate implementation of data models.
- Support data migration, integration, and modernization projects across multiple business domains.

Required Skills :





- Expertise in Dimensional Modeling, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, SAP PowerDesigner, or similar.
- Excellent SQL programming and database design skills.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and architecture.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging.
- Experience with ETL processes and enterprise data integration.
- Understanding of normalization, denormalization, indexing, partitioning, and database performance tuning.
- Familiarity with Data Governance and data quality best practices.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) domain.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
- Knowledge of big data ecosystems including Hadoop or Spark.
- Experience with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Cognos.
- Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Azure Data Factory.
- Certification in Data Modeling or Data Management is an added advantage.

Desired Candidate Profile :

- 5 - 9 years of experience in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and database design principles.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Experience designing scalable, high-quality data models for enterprise applications.
- Solid stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and documentation skills.
- Passion for building robust data foundations that support business intelligence, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
