Role Overview The Industrial Relations (IR) Manager is responsible for maintaining harmonious employer–employee relations across polyhouse operations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, managing workforce discipline, handling grievances, coordinating with contractors, and supporting uninterrupted farm operations through effective labor management.

Key Responsibilities

1.Industrial Relations Management

● Maintain healthy relations between management, workers, supervisors, and contractors.

● Resolve employee grievances in a timely and fair manner.

● Conduct regular interactions with workers to identify and address concerns.

● Prevent labor disputes, work stoppages, and productivity disruptions.

● Facilitate communication between management and workforce.

2.Labour Law Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws including:
- Labour Codes
- Minimum Wages Act
- Payment of Wages Act
- Contract Labour Regulations
- Employee Provident Fund (EPF)
- Employee State Insurance (ESI)
- Occupational Safety and Health requirements
- State-specific labor regulations
- Coordinate labor inspections and government audits.
- Maintain statutory registers and records.

3.Contract Labour Management

● Manage labor contractors and labor supply agencies.





● Verify contractor compliance with statutory requirements.

● Monitor attendance, wage payments, and worker welfare.

● Conduct periodic contractor performance evaluations.

● Ensure availability of manpower as per crop and harvesting requirements.

4.Workforce Administration

● Monitor worker attendance and absenteeism trends.

● Analyze labor productivity across different polyhouse units.

● Coordinate workforce deployment based on operational needs.

● Support manpower planning during peak harvesting and planting periods.

● Maintain employee records and documentation.

5.Disciplinary Management

● Investigate misconduct, indiscipline, and workplace violations.

● Conduct domestic inquiries when required.

● Issue warning letters, notices, and disciplinary communications.

● Ensure disciplinary actions comply with company policies and labor laws.

6.Worker Welfare and Engagement

● Oversee worker welfare facilities including:

○ Labour accommodation

○ Toilets and sanitation facilities

○ Drinking water facilities

○ Canteen arrangements

○ Transportation arrangements

● Organize employee engagement and awareness programs.

● Promote worker satisfaction and retention.

7.Safety and Compliance Coordination

● Work closely with EHS and farm operations teams.

● Ensure workers follow safety procedures inside polyhouses.

● Participate in safety audits and corrective action implementation.

● Conduct worker awareness sessions on health, hygiene, and safety.





8.Documentation & Reporting

● Prepare and maintain:

○ Labor attendance reports

○ Contractor compliance reports

○ Grievance registers

○ Disciplinary records

○ Statutory compliance trackers

○ Monthly IR dashboards

● Present workforce analytics and IR updates to management.

Qualification and Experience

● MBA (HR) / MSW / PGDM-HR

● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Agriculture, or related field.

● Certification in Labour Laws or Industrial Relations preferred.

● 5–10 years of experience in Industrial Relations, HR Operations, or Labor Management.

● Experience in agriculture, polyhouse farming, food processing, manufacturing, or large workforce operations preferred.

● Experience handling 300–2,000 workers is desirable.

● Coordinate labor allocation across multiple polyhouse blocks and open-field operations.

● Monitor labor productivity per acre and per crop.

● Support worker housing and migrant labor welfare programs.

● Ensure compliance with certifications such as:

○ GLOBALG.A.P.

○ GRASP

○ Customer social compliance requirements.

● Maintain labor records required for farm audits and export certifications.

Location - Kota, Rajasthan and Visit on farms as an when required
