QA Engineer Chennai

We're looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and correctness of our platform. This is a hands-on IC role where you'll build test automation, design test strategy, and partner closely with engineering to catch issues before they reach production.

You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design to understand feature behavior, define acceptance criteria, and build confidence in every release. Your work will directly protect the accuracy and reliability our practices depend on, especially in billing, claims, and patient payment workflows.

This is a full-time, in-office role in our Chennai engineering center, working with a high-performing, AI-native engineering team. You will report to our Engineering Lead.

What You'll Do (Quality Engineering)

- Design and build automated test suites (UI, API, and integration) across our React/Next.js front end and C#/.NET and Python backend services.
- Own test strategy for features, defining coverage, edge cases, and acceptance criteria alongside product and engineering.
- Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines, ensuring fast, reliable feedback for engineering teams.
- Perform manual exploratory testing on complex, data-sensitive workflows (billing, claims, patient payments) where correctness is critical.
- Develop and maintain API test suites (contract, regression, load) for distributed services.
- Write clear, reproducible bug reports and partner with engineers to drive issues to resolution.
- Champion test coverage, quality gates, and release-readiness criteria across teams.
- Monitor production quality signals (error rates, regressions) and help triage issues quickly.
- Contribute to test tooling and internal frameworks that raise the bar on engineering quality.

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, or similar role testing modern web applications and APIs.




- Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium) for React/Next.js applications.
- Experience testing backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL) in C#/.NET or Python environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies: unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, and performance testing.
- Ability to design test plans for complex, data-sensitive workflows (billing, payments, or other compliance-critical systems).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify edge cases others might miss.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable documenting bugs, writing test plans, and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices.

Experience We're looking for candidates with meaningful, hands-on qualified experience testing production web applications and APIs, including experience building or maintaining test automation frameworks.

Bonus Points

- Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, Locust).
- Exposure to healthcare, fintech, or other high-reliability, regulated domains.
- Experience with contract testing or API mocking tools (e.g., Pact, WireMock).
- Familiarity with accessibility testing (e.g., axe, WCAG compliance).
- Experience contributing to test strategy across multiple teams or regions.
