Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM i application development using COBOL/400, RPGLE, CLLE, DB2 for i, SQLRPGLE, and SQLCBLLE . You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mission-critical business applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) platform.
- Develop and enhance applications using COBOL/400 (CBLLE), RPGLE (including Free-Form RPG), and CLLE .
- Develop and optimize DB2 for i (DB2/400) database programs using SQL, SQLRPGLE, and SQLCBLLE.
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot database objects including triggers, stored procedures, views, and indexes .
- Analyze business requirements and prepare technical design documents.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Use Rational Developer for i (RDi) for development, debugging, and application maintenance.
- Manage source code using Git (preferred)



or other version control systems, including branching, merging, and code promotion.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, providing timely fixes and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver business solutions.
- Mentor junior developers and promote IBM i development best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of hands-on IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) application development experience.
- Strong programming experience in:
- COBOL/400 (CBLLE)
- RPGLE (including Free-Form RPG)
- CLLE
- Strong knowledge of DB2 for i (DB2/400) and SQL programming.
- Experience with SQLRPGLE and SQLCBLLE .
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining triggers, stored procedures, and other database objects .
- Experience using Rational Developer for i (RDi) or equivalent IBM i development tools.
- Working knowledge of IBM i job management, libraries, and object architecture.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Experience with unit testing and debugging IBM i applications.
- Proficiency with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
