Role: HS Classification Analyst Website: www.trademo.com Location: Gurgaon, On-site About the Role We are looking for an experienced HS Classification Analyst to accurately classify products under the Harmonized System (HS) while ensuring compliance with global trade regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in customs classification, regulatory research, and product analysis, with the ability to support and enhance AI-driven classification systems. Key Responsibilities
Classify products using the Harmonized System (HS), GRI, Section/Chapter Notes, and WCO Explanatory Notes.
Analyze product specifications and technical documentation to determine accurate HS codes. Prepare well-documented classification justifications with supporting legal references.
Research customs rulings and resolve classification-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Review and validate AI-generated HS classifications,
providing feedback to improve model accuracy.
Maintain classification records and audit documentation to ensure compliance.
Stay updated on changes in global customs regulations and tariff schedules.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
3+ years of experience in HS Classification, Customs Compliance, or Global Trade Compliance. Robust knowledge of HS Nomenclature, GRI, Section & Chapter Notes, and WCO Explanatory Notes.
Experience interpreting technical product specifications and researching customs rulings. Exposure to AI-assisted or automated classification systems is a plus.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
