Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Horticulturist role based at Khanvel Resort in Silvassa. The Horticulturist will oversee the health, appearance, and functionality of all gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas within the resort. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing planting schedules, maintaining flower beds, shrubs, trees, and lawns, and managing pruning, fertilization, pest control, and soil care.

The role also involves monitoring and adjusting irrigation systems, coordinating with the maintenance and events teams to ensure outdoor areas meet guest expectations,



and proposing improvements to resort landscaping in line with seasonal changes and event requirements. The Horticulturist will train and guide gardening staff, maintain records of plant health and maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

Strong practical skills in Gardening and Landscape Maintenance, with experience in maintaining lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees.

Knowledge of Botany and plant care, including soil types, plant nutrition, pest and disease management, and seasonal planting.

Experience with Irrigation and Landscaping systems, including installation, operation, and optimization of watering schedules.

Diploma or degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or a related field preferred.

Ability to supervise and train gardening staff and coordinate work schedules effectively.

Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Basic record-keeping and reporting skills; familiarity with sustainable and eco-friendly landscaping practices is an advantage.
