Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy, Governance & Leadership

- Define and execute the organization's Supply Chain and Materials Management strategy aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Establish procurement policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), governance frameworks, Delegation of Authority (DOA), and performance management systems.
- Lead enterprise-wide supply chain transformation initiatives focused on process standardization, automation, digitization, and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement supply chain risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and supply security.
- Advise senior leadership on strategic commercial decisions, including Buy vs. Hire, Lease vs. Purchase, and In-house vs. Outsourcing models.
- Promote sustainable procurement, ethical sourcing, and ESG-compliant supply chain practices.

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Lead strategic sourcing, category management, procurement planning, tendering, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
- Manage procurement of CAPEX, OPEX, MRO, mining equipment, heavy machinery, spares, consumables, fuel, services, and project-related requirements.
- Develop sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
- Drive vendor development, supplier relationship management, and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Ensure effective contract lifecycle management and procurement compliance.

Inventory, Logistics & Warehousing
- Oversee inventory planning, warehouse operations, stores management, logistics, transportation, and material movement.
- Optimize inventory levels while maintaining uninterrupted operations.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management, inventory control, and demand planning.
- Improve warehouse productivity and logistics efficiency.

Cost Optimization & Commercial Excellence
- Drive procurement cost reduction, value engineering, spend optimization,



and working capital improvements.
- Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis and commercial evaluations.
- Lead high-value negotiations with suppliers and contractors to maximize commercial perks.

Digital Transformation & Systems
- Lead implementation and optimization of ERP and procurement systems such as SAP MM, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Drive procurement automation, digital workflows, analytics, and reporting.
- Utilize data-driven insights to improve supply chain performance and decision-making.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, statutory regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and ESG requirements.
- Develop business continuity plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build and lead high-performing procurement and supply chain teams.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, engineering, projects, and senior leadership to align supply chain strategies with business goals.
- Drive employee development, succession planning, and performance management.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Materials Management, or Business Administration preferred.
- 15-20 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, Logistics, and Inventory Management.
- Minimum 8-10 years in a senior leadership role managing integrated supply chain functions.
- Proven experience in large industrial, mining, manufacturing, metals, infrastructure, engineering, or project-based organizations.
- Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor development, inventory optimization, logistics management, and supply chain transformation.
- Experience working with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent systems.
