Role Description The General Manager Works is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Kolkata Area, responsible for overseeing overall plant operations and performance. The role involves managing production activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and optimizing resource utilization across departments. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating manufacturing execution, monitoring budgets, supervising procurement of materials and services, and implementing process improvements.

Works will lead and mentor cross-functional teams, enforce safety and compliance protocols, and maintain clear communication with senior leadership and external stakeholders. This role also includes reviewing operational metrics,



resolving issues promptly, and driving initiatives that support efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term business growth. Qualifications

Strong production management and operational planning skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives and meet production timelines.

Proficiency in budgeting and cost control, including monitoring expenditures and optimizing resource allocation.

Experience in quality control and process improvement, ensuring compliance with standards and continuous enhancement of plant performance.

Demonstrated team leadership capabilities, including supervising multidisciplinary teams and fostering a team-oriented work environment.

Sound procurement and vendor management skills, with experience in sourcing, negotiation, and contract oversight.

Relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial operations;

experience in mill or plant environments is mandatory.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data for decision-making and risk management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with internal teams and external partners.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in operations or production management are beneficial.
