Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Full-stack Developer. We have a UI/UX for a social/networking app (think: profiles, connections, feed, messaging) already designed and built out in Flutter. We’re looking for a developer to own this project across its full lifecycle — from initial build through to a scaled, native launch: 1.
Build the MVP: Take our existing Flutter UI/UX and build it into a working, backend-connected app using Lovable and/or FlutterFlow.
2.
Launch and validate: Help us get the MVP in front of real users and iterate based on early feedback.
3.
Harden for production: Once validated, audit and rework the codebase — security (RLS, auth), schema design, performance, and scalability — turning the fast MVP into a reliable, production-grade system.
4.
Go native: Build and launch native iOS and Android versions of the app, carrying forward the hardened backend. This is a full-cycle build. This is an early-stage, high-ownership opportunity. We’re looking for someone who wants more than a task list — someone who wants to help shape the technical direction of a product from near-the-ground-up. What You’ll Do Phase 1 — Build:
- Take our existing Flutter UI/UX and build it into a working app using Lovable and/or FlutterFlow
- Design our initial backend — Supabase/Postgres schema, authentication, and RLS policies
- Recommend the right tool/stack approach for our situation (React via Lovable vs.
staying in Flutter via FlutterFlow)
- Set up GitHub for version control from day one Phase 2 — Launch & validate:
- Support a real-user MVP launch and iterate quickly based on feedback
- Fix bugs and adjust features as we learn what works Phase 3 — Harden:
- Audit the existing codebase for security, structure, and scalability issues
- Rework RLS policies, authentication flows, schema design, and query performance for production-grade reliability
- Refactor AI-generated code as needed to bring it up to production standards Phase 4 — Go native:
- Build native iOS and Android apps (approach TBD together — e.g., Flutter, React Native, or platform-native — based on your recommendation)
- Connect native apps to the hardened backend, ensuring web and mobile share the same data layer
- Manage App Store and Google Play submission and launch What We’re Looking For Must-haves:
- Strong hands-on experience with React/TypeScript and PostgreSQL (Supabase experience specifically is a big plus)
- Direct experience with Lovable and/or FlutterFlow — able to speak to real projects built with one or both
- Demonstrated experience with backend security — designing and later auditing authentication, authorization, and RLS, not just building features
- Comfort translating existing UI/UX designs into a working app, and later refactoring that same codebase for production
- Clear communicator, comfortable working async and owning problems independently across a multi-phase project Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with Flutter/Dart, and ideally native iOS/Android development or React Native
- Prior experience taking a product from zero → MVP → hardened production system → native launch
- Startup or early-stage product experience — comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities across phases How We Work We’re a small, collaborative team that values direct communication, fast iteration, and genuine ownership over your work — not just ticket-clearing. We’re building something we’re excited about, and we want people who are excited to build it with us.
Compensation & Growth Path • Initial engagement: Freelance/contract, with pay competitive to experience and scope (open to discussing hourly, project-based, or retainer structures) — likely structured in phases matching the project stages above
- Path to full-time: Strong performers will be considered for a full-time role as the product and team grow
- Ownership: Meaningful equity/ownership will be part of the conversation for a full time transition — we want people invested in the outcome, not just the paycheck
- Long-term (Canada-based growth): For the right person, we’re open to discussing visa/work sponsorship for relocation to Canada down the line, contingent on immigration program eligibility and prevailing rules.
To Apply Please share: 1. Your relevant experience with React/TypeScript, Postgres/Supabase, and Lovable and/or FlutterFlow
- Any experience both building and later auditing/hardening a codebase for production (this project has both phases)
- Any native mobile development experience (Flutter, React Native, or native iOS/Android)
- A short note on how you’d approach turning our existing Flutter UI into a working app, and your view on the Lovable vs. FlutterFlow decision
- Your availability and preferred engagement structure (hourly / project-based / retainer) Looking forward to onboarding a passionate professional for this world-changing role, and working together to realize our dreams! ✨
