Founding CEO — Nursery & Gardening D2C Venture | Hyderabad

About the prospect :

We're building a new direct-to-consumer nursery and gardening business from the ground up: a 10-acre production nursery near Hyderabad, a Madhapur HQ, and a ₹100 Cr revenue ambition over 4-5 years across D2C, institutional supply, wholesale, and retail channels. This is a full P&L;, founding-CEO mandate: you'll build the team, the brand, and the operating model from Phase 0, not step into an existing structure.

The venture operates under Igniting Minds Organization®, a Section 8 non-profit that has planted 195M trees and built 15,000 rainwater harvesting structures across India, so you'll have institutional credibility and community/government relationships most founders don't get on day one, while running this as a genuinely commercial business with real revenue targets.

What you'll own

- Full P&L; and business strategy from the ground up
- Nursery operations, supply chain,



and sourcing (including partner nurseries and imports)
- D2C, institutional, and wholesale go-to-market
- Hiring and building the leadership team, in coordination with the Board
- Fundraising-readiness and financial planning

Who we need

- 8-12 years of experience, including direct P&L; or general management ownership — this is not a functional-leadership or advisory role
- A track record of building or scaling a business, ideally in D2C, retail, agribusiness, or horticulture
- Comfort with a founding-stage compensation structure (fixed CTC performance bonus equity/ESOP) — this is not an enterprise-scale executive package
- Full time, on-site in Hyderabad, with regular travel to the nursery site and partner locations
- Genuine enthusiasm for sustainability and ecological impact, not just the commercial opportunity
