A fitter assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical machinery, equipment, or metal structures. They interpret technical blueprints, use hand and power tools to shape or cut materials, and test assembled components to ensure everything functions safely and correctly. Key Responsibilities

- Read Blueprints: Study technical diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings to plan work.

- Assemble & Install: Fit and align mechanical parts, components, or piping systems according to exact specifications.

- Maintain & Repair: Inspect machinery routinely, diagnose mechanical faults, and replace broken or worn-out parts.

- Fabricate & Shape: Cut, drill, grind, and weld metal or plastic materials using specialized shop tools.

- Test Systems:



Check finished assemblies with precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy and safety compliance.

Requirements & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or vocational qualification (such as an ITI Fitter certificate).

- Technical Skills: Solid mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring gauges.

- Safety Knowledge: Strict adherence to workplace safety regulations and proper personal protective equipment usage.

- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long hours, lift heavy objects, and work in tight spaces.
