About Rishihood
Rishihood is India’s first national transformation university. It prepares learners to solve the big problems of tomorrow. Our transformative education is built on three pillars:
• Personal Impact – developing physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual strength.
• Skilled Impact – building real-world skills through industry-integrated, practice-based learning.
• Public Impact – fostering interdisciplinary thinking and a commitment to nation-building.
At Rishihood, we nurture leaders who will transform themselves, their professions, and the nation.
Purpose
We are looking for a full-time faculty member to help build and grow our new Robotics Minor, joining as an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, depending on experience. This is a hands-on, lab-first role focused on developing courses, establishing laboratories, mentoring student projects, and preparing students for careers in robotics across industrial and commercial domains.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and growth of the Robotics Minor, with the long-term vision of evolving it into a full undergraduate degree programme.
- Design and deliver industry-relevant courses and laboratory sessions in Robotics and allied domains.
- Mentor students in developing innovative robotics projects, prototypes, and research initiatives.
- Prepare students for careers in robotics through experiential learning, practical applications, and project-based education.
- Develop laboratory infrastructure and hands-on learning experiences aligned with current industry practices.
- Collaborate with faculty across Computer Science, Electronics,
and Mechanical Engineering to develop interdisciplinary courses and research initiatives.
- Establish collaborations with industry partners for internships, live projects, workshops, and guest lectures.
- Continuously update curriculum and laboratory content to reflect emerging technologies and advancements in robotics.
Qualifications & Experience
- M.Tech. or PhD (or equivalent) in Robotics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Prior teaching, research, or relevant industry experience in robotics, automation, embedded systems, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and laboratory management skills.
- Passion for project-based, experiential, and interdisciplinary education.
Technical Expertise
We are looking for candidates with broad familiarity across robotics and deep expertise in two or more of the following areas.
Embedded Systems
- Embedded firmware development using C/C++ on platforms such as ARM, ESP32, AVR, or similar microcontrollers.
- Experience with embedded software architecture, RTOS, debugging, and firmware development.
- Familiarity with ROS, FreeRTOS, Arduino, SimpleFOC, or comparable open-source robotics ecosystems.
- Embedded hardware development including microcontrollers, motor drivers, power electronics,
and signal conditioning.
Motors, Actuators & Control Systems
- Knowledge of electric motors, actuators, sensors, and motion systems.
- Understanding of open-loop and closed-loop control systems.
- Experience with control system modelling, tuning, and implementation.
- Motion planning for robotic manipulators, wheeled robots, drones, and autonomous systems.
- Sensor integration, calibration, sensor fusion, dead reckoning, and Kalman filtering.
Machine Vision & Industrial Robotics
- Machine vision using OpenCV, AI-based vision techniques, and related toolkits.
- Familiarity with LiDAR, stereo vision, depth sensing, and other robotic perception technologies.
- Knowledge of industrial robotics, PLCs, robot controllers, industrial automation systems, and machine integration.
Design & Fabrication
- CAD and CAM tools for mechanical and electronic product development.
- PCB design and hardware prototyping.
- 3D modelling and Design for Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing).
Preferred Attributes
- Strong hands-on experience in one or more robotics domains with working knowledge across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to teach complex engineering concepts through practical, laboratory-based learning.
- Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and adoption of emerging robotics technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary academic and research environments.
- Interest in applied research, innovation, product development, and industry collaboration.
