ETL Tester Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, execute, and maintain ETL test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
- Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes across multiple sources and target systems such as data warehouses and data lakes.
- Identify, document, and report defects within the ETL pipeline; collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.
- Perform data reconciliation by comparing source data with transformed and loaded outputs to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Execute regression testing to confirm that changes in ETL processes do not disrupt existing functionality.
- Conduct performance testing to evaluate ETL pipeline behavior under various data loads.
- Validate data mappings and transformation logic between source and target systems.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to testing process improvements.
- Develop and maintain automated testing scripts for repetitive or complex testing scenarios.
- Document test cases, defects, and results to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
- Assist in troubleshooting and debugging data issues in collaboration with engineering and analytics teams.
- Communicate test progress and results effectively to business analysts, developers, and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,



Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in ETL testing or data validation roles.
- Strong knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS, and solid understanding of data warehousing principles.
- Proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries for data validation and issue investigation.
- Experience with relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Understanding of data migration, integration, and transformation concepts.
- Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and best practices for data quality.
- Experience in defect tracking and test documentation.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with cloud-based ETL platforms such as AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory.
- Exposure to Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Certifications in ETL testing, data analysis, or quality assurance frameworks.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, QTP, or domain-specific testing frameworks.
