Job Summary: The Equity Dealer executes equity trades for clients, monitors stock market activities, provides market insights, and ensures timely and accurate trade execution. The role requires strong knowledge of financial markets, trading platforms, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Execute buy and sell orders in equity markets accurately and efficiently. Monitor live market trends, stock performance, and economic news. Provide clients with market updates and investment-related information.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and address trading queries. Ensure compliance with exchange regulations and internal company policies. Monitor client portfolios and margin positions. Coordinate with research and advisory teams to support investment decisions.
Prepare daily trading reports and maintain transaction records. Resolve trade discrepancies and operational issues promptly. Achieve trading volume and client engagement targets, where applicable.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Certification such as NISM Equity Derivatives or Equity Dealer Module (preferred or required, depending on the employer). Relevant experience in stock broking,
capital markets, or equity trading.
Required Skills: Strong understanding of equity markets and trading mechanisms. Knowledge of NSE, BSE, and SEBI regulations. Familiarity with trading terminals and brokerage software. Analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and client relationship management. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a rapid-paced, high-pressure environment. Basic knowledge of technical and fundamental analysis. Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
Preferred Experience: 1–5 years of experience as an Equity Dealer or in a similar capital markets role.
Experience handling retail or institutional clients is an advantage.
Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs): Trade execution accuracy and turnaround time. Client satisfaction and retention. Trading volume and revenue generation. Compliance with regulatory and internal policies. Timely resolution of client queries and trade issues.
Working Conditions: Typically office-based with standard market hours. May require extended hours during periods of high market volatility or financial reporting seasons.
