This role sits alongside a Product Manager and a Technical Leader, forming a triad responsible for turning product requirements into predictable, high-quality, on-time engineering outcomes.
The Engineering Production Manager has full ownership of the Engineering Production Pipeline, from initial intake of product requirements through planning, development, testing, release, and post-release care. They are accountable for delivery execution, capacity planning, dependency management, communication, reporting, and operational health across multiple concurrent workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Delivery & Execution Ownership
Own and operate the end-to-end Engineering Production Pipeline.
Provide clear production plans with hard delivery dates that take into account technical and testing plans as well as team capacity and velocity.
Drive execution through a sprint-based delivery cadence.
Ensure engineering output meets quality, performance, reliability, and security standards.
Lead delivery planning including scope definition and dependency management.
Own engineering capacity and resource planning.
Work with Product Management to keep the engineering roadmap up to date.
Identify risks and drive mitigation plans early.
Cross-Discipline Team Leadership
Run and coordinate cross-discipline engineering teams.
Facilitate daily stand-ups and sprint ceremonies.
Track team velocity and capacity over time with a goal of providing predictability in team planning.
Resolve technical dependencies and delivery blockers.
Partner closely with Product and Technical leadership.
Integration, Testing & Release Management
Own integration, testing, and user acceptance readiness.
Coordinate releases into live environments.
Ensure smooth, predictable and well-communicated releases.
Reporting, Governance & Communication
Maintain daily RAG status across all active projects.
Produce delivery and progress reporting documents.
Represent engineering delivery in Scrum of Scrums and leadership forums.
Post-Release Care & Incident Management
Own post-release care and production support.
Lead or coordinate incident management.
Drive continuous improvement from delivery and incident learnings.
