Role Description The Embedded Systems Engineer will work on-site in Recent Delhi in a full-time capacity, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of embedded software and electronics for VTOL drone systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and testing embedded firmware, integrating sensors and communication modules, and troubleshooting hardware-software interactions in real-world flight conditions. The engineer will collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure reliable system performance, safety, and scalability of drone platforms.
The role also involves participating in system architecture discussions, reviewing code and hardware designs, and documenting technical specifications and test results. Additionally, the engineer will support continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to prototype development,
and help transition designs into production-ready solutions. Qualifications
B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Embedded Systems.
3+ years of embedded firmware development in C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M/A class processors.
Proven PCB design experience (Altium/KiCad/OrCAD) with at least 2–3 boards taken from schematic to production.
Strong grasp of RTOS concepts (FreeRTOS/NuttX/Zephyr), interrupt handling, DMA, and low-level debugging (JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes).
Familiarity with communication protocols: CAN, MAVLink, UART, SPI, I2C, USB.
Strong proficiency in Embedded Software and Electronics, including experience with microcontrollers, firmware development, and hardware-software integration.
Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, with the ability to read schematics, work with sensors and actuators, and collaborate on power and signal integrity considerations.
Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) and Software Development, including communication protocols, networking, and developing reliable, scalable embedded applications.
Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), C/C++, embedded Linux, and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
Background in robotics, UAVs, or autonomous systems is highly beneficial, including familiarity with control systems, sensors (IMUs, GPS), and telemetry.
Ability to work on-site in New Delhi, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly in technical and non-technical discussions.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous learning in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain firmware for the autopilot stack (RTOS-based, safety-critical flight code).
End-to-end PCB design: schematic capture, component selection, layout, stack-up planning, DFM/DFA, and bring-up of flight controllers, power distribution boards, ESC interfaces, and sensor breakout boards.
Develop and debug drivers for IMUs, barometers, magnetometers, GNSS receivers, CAN/UART/SPI/I2C peripherals, and RC/telemetry links.
Implement and tune real-time control loops, sensor fusion pipelines, and failsafe logic on microcontrollers (STM32/similar) and companion computers.
Conduct HIL/SIL testing, EMI/EMC-aware design, and support environmental qualification for military-grade requirements.
Support field trials: firmware flashing, in-field debugging, log analysis, rapid iteration.
Maintain compliance with supply-chain requirements (e.g., exclusion of restricted-origin components for MoD programmes). Preferred
Prior work on PX4/ArduPilot internals or a proprietary autopilot.
Experience with brushless motor control, ESC firmware, or power electronics.
Exposure to DO-178C/MIL-STD design practices or defence qualification testing.
