Software / Embedded Engineer Purpose To design, develop, test, integrate, and support embedded firmware, IoT software platforms, cloud-connected applications, and intelligent automation systems for smart electrical infrastructure, EV charging systems (EVSE), smart energy metering, and centralized monitoring solutions. The engineer shall be responsible for embedded software development, device communication systems, real-time data acquisition, cloud integration, dashboard development support, automation logic implementation, and interoperability with electrical and mechanical utility systems including lifts, pumps, chillers, HVAC systems, DG systems, solar systems, and building automation platforms.
Key Responsibilities 1.
Embedded Firmware Development
Develop embedded firmware for: ESP32 STM32 ARM Cortex controllers PIC controllers AVR controllers Embedded Linux platforms Develop and maintain: Device drivers Communication stacks Sensor interfaces Real-time control algorithms Monitoring applications Data logging systems Program using: Embedded C C++ Python RTOS environments Develop: Bootloaders OTA firmware update systems Watchdog and fail-safe systems Event-driven architectures Fault diagnostics logic 2. IoT System Development Design and implement IoT-enabled electrical automation systems.
Integrate devices with: Cloud platforms Web dashboards Mobile applications SCADA systems BMS systems Energy management platforms Develop: Real-time monitoring systems Alarm management systems Notification systems Historical trend analysis Remote diagnostics platforms Support edge computing and distributed automation systems. 3.
Communication Protocol Development
Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols including: Modbus RTU/TCP MQTT BACnet CAN Bus OPC UA SNMP REST APIs TCP/IP WebSocket communication Develop communication interfaces using: RS485 Ethernet Wi-Fi BLE Zigbee LoRa GSM/4G/5G Integrate third-party devices and utility systems. 4.
Smart Energy Metering Systems
Develop software and firmware for: Smart energy meters Net metering systems Multi-tenant metering Demand monitoring systems Energy analytics systems Power quality monitoring systems Implement: Import/export energy calculations Demand control logic Energy billing interfaces Tariff management systems Load profiling systems Interface with: Utility meters Solar inverters DG systems UPS systems Battery storage systems 5. Experience Requirements Junior Engineer 1–3 years of experience in embedded firmware or IoT development.
Design
Engineer 3–6 years of experience in embedded systems and industrial communication systems.
Senior
Engineer 6+ years of experience in complete embedded product lifecycle development and smart automation platforms.
Desired Competencies
Strong analytical and debugging skills. Good understanding of electrical systems and automation concepts. Ability to work on multidisciplinary systems. Good documentation and communication skills. Ability to independently develop and troubleshoot integrated systems.
