- Designing fire systems: Creating detailed layouts and schematics for fire protection systems, such as sprinklers, hydrants, fire extinguishers, and pumps
- Ensuring compliance: Making sure designs meet local codes and standards, such as NFPA codes
- Collaborating with others: Working with engineers and architects to integrate fire protection systems into building designs
- Gathering measurements: Conducting site visits to take accurate measurements
- Creating drawings: Using CAD software to create precise drawings and revisions
- Preparing documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation, such as specifications and installation manuals
- Participating in design reviews: Providing technical insights and adjustments based on feedback
- Supporting project managers: Helping track project timelines and deliverables
