Woolworths Group India is partnering exclusively with Zinnov Group to recruit for this position.

Purpose

We are looking for an accomplished India Site Leader (Director, Woolworths Group India) to establish and scale a high-impact Global Capability Centre (GCC), which will be a first for Woolworths Group, a top 10 company on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), Woolworths Group employs more than 180,000 team members and serves more than 20 million customers a week.

As the most senior executive at our newly established Bangalore Hub (Woolworths Group India), you will be the visionary leader responsible for building, scaling, and maturing our India operations. You will be instrumental in scaling this strategic hub, with a strong focus on building world-class capabilities across Digital, Technology, Data, Analytics, and eCommerce.

You will bridge the gap between our global support office teams in Australia/ Current Zealand and the local team in India, ensuring that Woolworths Group India is not just a "service centre" but a centre of excellence that drives enterprise-wide innovation. This role is centered on executive leadership, rapid organisational scaling, and strategic business partnership. The Director will foster cross-functional collaboration, strengthen global stakeholder relationships, enable enterprise transformation initiatives, and cultivate a culture aligned with the Woolworths Group purpose, values and ways of working.

What you’ll do

India Leadership

- Vision & Execution: Build, scale, and lead the India Hub in Bangalore as a strategic global capability centre, driving the long-term vision, operating model, organisational design, and growth roadmap.
- Strategic Integration: Establish the India organisation as a trusted, seamless extension of global teams and leadership working E2E with our teams in Australia & New Zealand.
- Culture Building: Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative culture across all functions, ensuring alignment with Woolworths Group's core purpose, values & ways of working.

Strategic Business Partnership

- Global Collaboration: Partner closely with executive leadership teams across business, technology, operations, digital, analytics, and transformation functions to deliver on long term business priorities and initiatives delivering value for Woolworths Group and our customers, team and communities.
- Enterprise Alignment: Drive enterprise priorities and ensure tight alignment between global strategies in AU & NZ and India-based execution.
- Stakeholder Management: Influence strategic decisions through strong stakeholder management, acting as the primary bridge between Australian Support Office and India teams to ensure alignment on execution, culture, and business outcomes.





Organisational Scaling & Talent Leadership

- Growth Talent Strategy: Drive the hiring strategy, leadership development, talent retention, and team member engagement required to scale at pace.
- Employer Branding: Create a powerful employer brand, establishing Woolworths Group India as a premier destination for top-tier digital and technology talent in the region.
- Leadership Pipeline: Build profound leadership capability and succession depth across the India organisation, with a focus area of developing those that can inspire collaborative ownership, foster team wellbeing, and drive engagement from the ground up.
- Organisational Effectiveness: Lead organisational effectiveness initiatives to support sustainable future growth.

Operational Excellence & Transformation

- Operational Maturity: Drive operational maturity, governance, execution excellence, and scalable processes across the Woolworths Group India.
- Continuous Improvement: Enable cross-functional transformation programs and continuous improvement initiatives to support Woolworths Group.
- Digital Modernisation: Support enterprise modernisation efforts through robust collaboration with global technology and digital teams.
- Delivery Excellence: Ensure accountability, delivery excellence, and strong commercial business outcomes across all functions.

What you’ll bring Enterprise & GCC Leadership

- Large-Scale GCC/GBS Scale-up: Proven experience establishing, scaling, and running large-scale GCC/GBS organisations in India. Experience with ASX-listed or equivalent global multinationals is highly desirable.
- Strategic & Operational Equilibrium: Exceptional business acumen with a demonstrated ability to transition seamlessly between high-level strategic vision and rigorous, metrics-driven operational execution.
- Financial & Commercial Stewardship: P&L; ownership with a track record of driving operational efficiencies, optimising cost-to-serve, and delivering measurable commercial value back in to Woolworths Group

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

- Executive Presence & Matrix Navigation: Strong enterprise leadership capability with the gravitas to influence and collaborate with Group Execs, Board members, and complex, cross-functional global stakeholders.
- Cross-Cultural Integration: High level of cultural intelligence with outstanding communication and negotiation skills; proven ability to bridge cultural nuances and seamlessly align the India Support Office with Woolworths Group’s core culture, values, and ways of working.

Domain Capability

- Digital & Tech Credibility: Deep exposure to modern technology,



digital, product, data, analytics, and eCommerce-led ecosystems. Possesses the technical shorthand required to engage credibly and strategically with global technology leadership.
- Transformation & Modernisation Champion: Experience driving business transformation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives that elevate the centre from a delivery hub to a strategic value-driver.

People & Culture

- Talent Magnet & Ecosystem Development: A track record of building high-performing leadership teams and designing plans in partnership with the People team in relation to talent attraction, retention, and succession strategies within the highly competitive Indian market.
