Role Description The Direct Tax Manager role is a full time, on-site position based in Pune. The person in this role will oversee all direct tax matters, including tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the company. Daily activities include reviewing tax computations, monitoring changes in tax laws, coordinating tax audits and assessments, and working with internal finance teams and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.

The Direct Tax

Manager will prepare and review tax returns, analyze the tax impact of business transactions,



and recommend strategies to optimize tax positions while maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also involves developing internal tax processes, supporting statutory and internal audits, and preparing documentation and reports for management.

Qualifications Strong direct tax domain expertise, including Tax Planning and Tax Law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations.

Hands-on experience in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation, including filing returns, managing assessments, and responding to tax authorities.

Broad understanding of corporate Tax matters, including the tax implications of business operations, transactions, and cross-border dealings.

Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, or a postgraduate degree in Finance/Accounting, with relevant experience in corporate direct taxation.

Advanced proficiency in accounting and tax software, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Indian direct tax regulations and standards.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector is an advantage, along with prior exposure to tax audits and interactions with tax authorities.
