Role Description The DevOps Engineer will be a full-time, on-site team member based in Chennai, responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure and tooling that supports Esse India’s internal applications and client-facing systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and managing cloud infrastructure, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and overseeing CI pipelines to ensure reliable deployments. The role involves close collaboration with software development teams to automate build, test, and release processes, as well as working with system administrators to monitor system performance, security, and availability.

The DevOps Engineer will troubleshoot production issues, optimize Linux-based environments, and contribute to strategies that improve scalability, resilience,



and operational efficiency. The position also includes creating documentation, following best practices for security and compliance, and continuously improving automation and observability across the technology stack.

Qualifications

Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices to provision, configure, and manage environments programmatically.

Proficiency in Software Development concepts and scripting/programming (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar) to build automation and integration tools.

Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration (CI) systems to design and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.

Solid background in System Administration, including server management, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Advanced working knowledge of Linux environments, including shell usage, security hardening, and package management.

Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (such as Docker and Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.

Familiarity with configuration management and monitoring tools, along with an understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
