Role Description
We are seeking a Design & Production Engineer for a full-time, on-site position based in Pune.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing custom induction hardening coils based on customer drawings and specifications, while also overseeing the manufacturing process to ensure the coils are produced accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Design induction hardening coils for crankshafts, camshafts, gears, shafts, and other components according to customer requirements.
- Prepare and modify 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD, CATIA, and SolidWorks .
- Interpret customer drawings, technical specifications, and hardening requirements to develop effective coil designs.
- Work closely with the production team to oversee manufacturing and ensure designs are correctly implemented on the shop floor.
- Troubleshoot design and production issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with quality control to ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Optimise designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs, and process records.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
- Experience with CATIA and SolidWorks is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in induction hardening, induction heating systems, tooling, or fixture design will be a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of crankshaft, camshaft, or other automotive component hardening processes is preferred.
- Ability to supervise production activities, solve manufacturing problems, and work effectively with shop-floor personnel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
