About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Database Developer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in database development, data migration, performance optimization, reporting, data integration, and production support.

The role requires expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Kafka, and SSIS.

The Database

Developer will collaborate closely with application developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, optimize, and maintain reliable enterprise database solutions.

The successful candidate should be able to ensure database performance, high availability, data integrity, security, and seamless movement of data across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Database Development

Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and indexes.

Develop complex and optimized SQL and T-SQL queries to support business applications and reporting requirements.

Design and implement scalable and efficient database structures.

Review database designs, queries, and scripts to ensure adherence to development standards.

Participate in database architecture discussions, technical reviews, and code reviews.

Work with application development teams to understand and support database requirements.

Data Migration

Plan and execute data migration projects across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

Support the migration of legacy databases to modern database platforms with minimal downtime.

Develop migration scripts, mapping documents, validation queries, and reconciliation reports.

Validate migrated data to ensure completeness, consistency, accuracy, and integrity.

Identify and resolve data quality and compatibility issues during migration.

Troubleshoot migration-related issues across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

Database Performance Optimization

Identify and optimize slow-running SQL queries and database processes.

Analyze query execution plans and recommend performance improvements.

Design and implement effective indexing and partitioning strategies.

Monitor database health, availability, storage utilization, and performance.





Perform regular database maintenance activities such as index rebuilding, statistics updates, and data archiving.

Identify database bottlenecks and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Reporting and Analytics

Design, build, and maintain reporting databases using ClickHouse.

Develop reporting views, analytical datasets, and data models.

Create optimized queries to support dashboards, reports, and business intelligence requirements.

Design and maintain ETL processes to support reporting and analytics.

Work with business and reporting teams to understand data requirements and deliver accurate datasets.

Ensure reporting data is timely, consistent, and reliable.

Data Integration

Build and maintain data pipelines using Kafka.

Integrate data from SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB into ClickHouse.

Develop reliable data extraction, transformation, and loading workflows.

Monitor data pipelines and resolve failures, latency issues, or inconsistencies.

Ensure secure, efficient, and accurate data movement across platforms.

Implement validation and reconciliation mechanisms for integrated data.

Deployment and Production Support

Prepare database deployment scripts for development, testing, staging, and production environments.

Deploy database schema and data changes according to established release processes.

Maintain version-controlled database scripts and deployment documentation.

Support application teams in resolving database-related issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within defined timelines.

Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Participate in database backup, restore, recovery, maintenance, and disaster recovery activities.

Support high-volume production databases and ensure maximum availability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

2–3 years of relevant experience in database development and production support.

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

Excellent knowledge of SQL and T-SQL.





Experience developing stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and complex queries.

Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

Experience working on database migration projects.

Solid knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.

Ability to analyze and optimize query execution plans.

Experience with ClickHouse for reporting and analytical workloads.

Working knowledge of Kafka for data streaming and system integration.

Experience with SSIS for ETL development and data integration.

Good understanding of database backup, restore, recovery, and maintenance processes.

Experience using Python for database automation, validation, and scripting.

Knowledge of source control tools and database deployment processes.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with development, DevOps, reporting, and business teams.

Preferred Skills

Experience migrating enterprise databases from SQL Server to PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.

Experience with database monitoring, profiling, and performance management tools.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated database deployments.

Experience supporting high-volume and business-critical production environments.

Knowledge of database security, access control, encryption, and auditing practices.

Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
