1. Verify current status of the DB
2. Take proactive measures to prevent DB outages
3. Execute database upgrade
4. Handle high severity tickets
5. Experience handling Amazon Aurora (Postgres) database without ongoing help from another DBA
6. Comfortable with handling tickets outside regular business hours
7. Knowledgeable in writing / reviewing SQL
