Data Protection Governance & Compliance Specialist

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Data Protection Governance & Compliance Specialist to remotely support governance, risk, and compliance initiatives for a government/semi-government client in Saudi Arabia. The role requires solid grounding in cybersecurity governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain the data protection governance framework and supporting documentation, aligned with NCA controls (DCC/ECC), NIST, and ISO/IEC 27001.
- Conduct compliance assessments, control gap analyses, and internal audits against applicable frameworks.
- Support ISO/IEC 27001 implementation and audit activities.
- Develop information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Coordinate internal and external compliance audits.
- Prepare governance reports and regulatory documentation.
- Conduct security awareness and compliance workshops.





Required Qualifications :

- 5 years of experience in data protection governance and/or compliance.
- Practical exposure to NCA controls (DCC/ECC), NIST, and ISO/IEC 27001 frameworks.
- Relevant accredited certifications (see Preferred Certifications below).
- Experience working with government or semi-government entities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Certifications :

- ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
- CISSP or CISM
- CRISC
- CGRC (formerly CAP)
