Role Description The Data Privacy Consultant is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai. The consultant will advise clients on data privacy strategies, interpret and apply relevant privacy regulations, and support implementation of Privacy Pillar’s tools and frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing data processing activities, conducting privacy impact and risk assessments, drafting and reviewing privacy policies, and recommending compliance controls.

The role involves collaborating with technical, legal, and business teams to embed privacy-by-design,



preparing documentation and training materials, and monitoring regulatory updates to keep clients aligned with best practices. The consultant will also help clients respond to data subject requests, manage incidents related to data privacy, and contribute to continuous improvement of internal methodologies.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Privacy Regulations and Privacy Compliance frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, DPDPA, and other global standards.

Experience designing, reviewing, and implementing Privacy Policies and Data Privacy controls within organizations.

Understanding of Cybersecurity principles as they relate to protecting personal data and mitigating privacy risks.

Experience conducting privacy impact assessments, risk assessments, and data mapping for complex environments.

Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business and technical processes.

Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in law, information security, computer science, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, ISO 27701) are an advantage.

Prior consulting or in-house privacy experience in technology, financial services, healthcare, or similar regulated sectors is beneficial.
