Role Understanding & Purpose The Control & Automation Engineer will be responsible for delivering end-to-end PLC, SCADA, HMI, and machine automation solutions, from system development to commissioning. The purpose of this position is to support best-in-class automation implementations that ensure reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.

This role is suited for engineers who enjoy hands-on engineering, real-time troubleshooting, system commissioning, and cross-functional collaboration, while also building a long-term career path in automation leadership.

Detailed Job Role & Activities

1. PLC, HMI & SCADA Engineering

- Develop, test, and implement PLC programs (Allen Bradley / Rockwell preferred) using Ladder, FBD, and SFC.
- Create, configure, and troubleshoot HMI & SCADA systems, ideally using FactoryTalk View.
- Perform system simulation, logic testing, and validation.

2. Commissioning & Field Activities

- Execute onsite/offsite commissioning of automation systems.
- Carry out modifications, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing PLC/SCADA systems.
- Ensure commissioning documentation, FAT/SAT reports, and technical records are completed as per standards.

3. Control System Design & Panel Engineering





- Review and support electrical panel design, wiring, and testing.
- Collaborate with design teams for system architecture, I/O mapping, bill of materials, and control philosophy.

4. Industrial Networking & System Integration

- Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.).
- Integrate automation systems with drives, motion controllers, instrumentation, and machine safety systems.

5. Customer Interaction & Project Support

- Provide clear communication and support to customers during project execution.
- Assist in resolving technical issues, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a professional and solution-oriented approach in customer interactions.

6. Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare project documents including logic diagrams, testing protocols, and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, machine safety requirements, and internal quality processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and automation best practices.

7. Collaboration & Team Contribution

- Work closely with internal teams, cross-functional departments, and global project groups.
- Mentor junior engineers when required and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Mandatory Skill Set Requirements

1. Education

- B.E./B.Tech (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics)

2. Technical Skills

•6-10 years of experience in Industrial Automation & Controls.

Strong expertise in

o PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen Bradley preferred)





o HMI & SCADA development (FactoryTalk desirable)

o Motion control & drive integration o Machine safety systems o Industrial networking protocols o Control panel testing and troubleshooting

- Ability to interpret:

o Electrical drawings P&IDs; o Control philosophies o System architecture diagrams

3. Behavioural & Professional Competencies
