Role Description The Compliance Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai.

The Compliance

Officer will oversee and maintain adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing import, export, and domestic cotton trading. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring regulatory changes, developing and updating compliance policies and procedures, conducting internal audits, and ensuring accurate documentation for financial and trade transactions. The role also involves coordinating with external regulatory bodies and industry associations,



providing guidance and training to internal teams on compliance requirements, and preparing reports for senior management on risk, compliance status, and remedial actions.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance to design, implement, and monitor adherence to legal and industry requirements.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to assess risks, interpret regulations, and review complex trade and financial documents.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external regulators, and industry bodies, and to prepare clear reports and guidelines.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Finance to ensure accurate compliance in financial transactions, documentation, and reporting.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Law, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications in compliance or risk management are an advantage.
- Experience in compliance, risk management, or audit within trading, commodities, or import-export environments is preferred.
- Robust attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.
- Candidate should have fair knowledge of GST and Income Tax Laws
