Role Overview:
The Compliance Officer, Customs & Regulatory Compliance, will be responsible for driving customs compliance across the supply chain lifecycle. The role requires close coordination with Customs authorities, CHAs, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation, timely customs clearance, and full adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
- Ensure compliance with Customs regulations, DGFT guidelines, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Manage customs documentation including Bills of Entry, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Shipping Documents, and Certificates of Origin.
- Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHAs), freight forwarders, shipping lines, and Customs officials to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
- Classify products using HS Codes and the Customs Tariff to ensure accurate duty compliance.
- Monitor customs clearance activities and resolve documentation or regulatory issues.
- Maintain compliance records and support internal and statutory audits.
- Track changes in Customs notifications, tariff regulations, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and government policies.
- Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Legal teams to ensure end-to-end compliance.
- Identify compliance risks and recommend process improvements to strengthen operational efficiency.
Experience & Skills Required: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Law, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- 58 years of experience in Customs Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Supply Chain Operations, or Trade Compliance.
- Experience in Trading, Distribution, Supply Chain, or Logistics will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Customs Tariff, HS Classification, ICEGATE, DGFT, and Customs Clearance procedures.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
