About the role The Compliance Research Associate is the backbone of Corplico's compliance content — researching the laws and regulations applicable to each client's business and industry, and translating them into structured, usable compliance checklists on the platform.

This is largely a research and content role: it feeds the Client Operations and Software Backend teams, and requires genuine comfort with reading and interpreting statutes, rules, and government notifications. Key responsibilities

Prepare new compliance checklists for clients by studying the Business Understanding Sheet submitted by the Client Operations Team and identifying all applicable central, state, and local laws.

Prepare new compliance checklists for industries or business activities not yet covered on the platform, through independent research and development.

Conduct statutory research directly from primary sources — government portals, official gazettes, ministry and regulator websites — rather than relying on secondary summaries.

Monitor regulatory amendments, notifications, and circulars relevant to existing client checklists and identify where an update is triggered.

Update existing compliance checklists in Excel to reflect legal changes, following the master checklist format and version-control conventions.





Submit completed and updated checklists to the Software Backend Team for upload to the platform, with explicit notes on what changed and why.

Respond to queries from the Client Operations Team on applicability of specific laws to a client's business context. Qualification and experience

LLB, or Company Secretary (CS) qualification, is preferred.

Candidates with B.Com or BBA and demonstrated legal/statutory research aptitude (e.g. through internships, coursework, or prior compliance-adjacent work) will also be considered.

1–2 years of experience in statutory compliance, legal research, or a CA/CS/law firm compliance practice. Strong freshers with a genuine research aptitude and relevant internship experience may be considered for the junior band.

Skills and attributes

Ability to read and correctly interpret bare acts, rules, and government notifications without oversimplifying or missing exceptions.

Strong written English for drafting clear, unambiguous checklist entries and regulatory update notes.

Comfortable navigating government portals (labour, corporate, environmental, and other regulatory websites) to source primary material.

High attention to detail — checklist errors carry real compliance risk for clients.

Basic proficiency in Excel for maintaining and updating checklist templates.
