The Community Therapist will facilitate community-based rehabilitation (CBR) for persons with spinal cord injury (PwSCI) by conducting assessments, providing therapy, strengthening referral systems, organizing training, and engaging with local stakeholders. The role aims to improve rehabilitation outcomes and support community integration by coordinating essential services and ensuring effective documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct functional assessments and deliver therapy to PwSCI through home visits, camps, and tele-rehabilitation. Refer cases to specialized rehabilitation centers and ensure follow-up care.
• Strengthen the referral system by collaborating with PHCs, hospitals, and local service providers to ensure availability of self-care kits, medical support, and assistive devices.
• Organize training sessions for parents, caregivers, and local stakeholders to improve care provision.
Lead sensitization programs and assist in the formation of peer support groups or district-level federations.
• Facilitate access to government entitlements such as UDID, social security schemes, and livelihood support for PwSCI. Mobilize local resources to support rehabilitation and sustainability efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and beneficiary progress, ensuring timely data entry into project systems.
Requirements
• Completed CCCG / CCRT course certified by RCI, or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
• Experience in community development, rehabilitation, or the health sector preferred, but freshers can also apply.
• Understanding of disability rights, inclusive development, and government schemes.
• Familiarity with documentation tools and digital platforms.
