Job Role: CNC Tool Application Engineer

Work Experience: 4 - 5 years (Robust hands-on exposure in Application, Tool life cycle management, vendor management)

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with NPD and Process engineering teams to optimize tooling selection for specific applications.
- Lead the end-to-end selection of cutting tools for Turning, Milling, Turn-Mill applications to support NPD, production, and machining trials.
- Select and optimize cutting geometries, tool materials, coatings, and grades based on workpiece materials, machining conditions, and application requirements.
- Develop and implement tooling strategies to achieve Cost Per Component (CPC) targets, reduce cycle times, and enhance machining productivity.
- Prepare tooling concepts, cutting tool layouts, and manufacturing solutions for new product launches and production projects.
- Analyze machining processes and implement tooling improvements to enhance productivity, product quality, process capability, and tool life.
- Introduce next-generation cutting tools, advanced grades, and innovative machining technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness.
- Drive year-on-year tooling cost reduction initiatives through standardization, localization, value engineering, and process optimization.
- Lead supplier development activities, including technical evaluation, qualification, auditing, performance management, and onboarding of tooling and fixture suppliers.




- Troubleshoot machining and tooling-related issues, providing effective technical solutions to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Conduct tooling trials, process validations, prove-outs, and capability studies to achieve target tool life, process stability, and quality requirements.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in Milling, Turning, Turn-Mill, and Special Machining Processes, driving productivity improvement, cost optimization, manufacturing excellence, and continuous process innovation
- Develop NPD tools with optimized cost and quality as per the process design requirement and ensure with Quality
- Increase utilization of regrind tools (Round tools & Indexable inserts)
- Provide technical support and solutions to inhouse for cutting tools and machining applications.
- Conduct tool trials, demonstrations, and performance evaluations tool performance
- Recommend cost-effective tooling solutions to improve productivity, tool life, and machining efficiency.
- Analyse machining issues such as tool wear, chip control, and surface finish, and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot ongoing tooling issues in the Machine Shop and Graphite Shop and identify slow‑moving tools and consumption
- Design and develop concept drawings for Solid Carbide Round Tools and Indexable Cutting Tools to meet process requirements.

Qualifications: Education Qualification: B.E / DIPLOMA in Mechanical Engineering

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
