Ravan.ai is seeking an exceptional Chief Technology Officer to lead the technology vision, architecture, and engineering organization of our AI-powered sales automation platform.

We build real-time multilingual voice AI agents, conversational website avatars, intelligent calling systems, and end-to-end sales automation infrastructure that convert website traffic into qualified appointments 24/7. Our systems already power thousands of businesses and handle high-volume production workloads across voice, vision, and multi-channel engagement.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a technical executive who has scaled production distributed systems, owns architecture end-to-end, and can drive both product innovation and operational excellence in a fast-growing AI company.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and own the overall technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for Ravan.ai's core platforms (real-time voice AI, agent orchestration, CRM integrations, and multi-channel automation).
- Lead the design, development, and scaling of production-grade distributed microservices and backend systems using Go (Golang) and Django.
- Drive system reliability, performance, low-latency real-time infrastructure (<300 ms), and high-concurrency capabilities for voice and conversational AI workloads.
- Oversee architecture decisions around microservices, APIs (REST/gRPC), asynchronous processing, data stores, and observability.
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and rapid iteration.
- Ensure production systems handle real-world scale, failure modes, bottlenecks,



and outages with strong reliability engineering practices.
- Collaborate closely with product, AI/ML, and business leadership to translate company vision into robust technical execution.
- Champion best practices in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, security, compliance (including data privacy and calling regulations), and operational excellence.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI/voice technologies while maintaining control over cost, latency, and quality.

Required Skills and Experience

- 8 years of progressive engineering experience, with significant time spent in senior technical leadership or CTO/VP Engineering roles.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Go (Golang) for building scalable microservices, APIs (Gin/gRPC), and high-performance backend systems.
- Strong experience with Django for robust web frameworks, admin interfaces, and backend services.
- Proven track record designing and operating distributed systems in production at meaningful scale.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, consistency models, CAP theorem, system failure modes, performance bottlenecks, and outage recovery.
- Experience with PostgreSQL (or equivalent), ORMs, background/async job processing, and production database optimization.




- Backend-focused leader with strong infrastructure awareness and the ability to dive deep into code and architecture when needed.
- Experience supporting systems serving large numbers of concurrent users or high-volume real-time workloads.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to set technical direction, hire talent, and align engineering with business goals.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with real-time systems, voice AI, conversational AI, or low-latency streaming infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Background in observability, performance tuning, SRE practices, and reliability engineering.
- Exposure to integrating or operating ML/AI systems in production environments.
- Prior experience in high-growth startups or AI/product companies, ideally with multi-language or global customer bases.
- Familiarity with compliance considerations relevant to voice calling, data privacy (DPDP/GDPR/etc.), and enterprise security.

- Engagement Type: Full-time leadership role (or senior fractional/contract initially with path to full time)
- Work Mode: Remote-friendly (with preference for overlap with India / UAE time zones)
