The selected candidate will be resposible for material testing and new product development based in our Chemical Lab in Ranchi.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all laboratory operations including sample collection, preparation, testing, and reporting for natural flake graphite products

- Perform and supervise tests for fixed carbon, ash content, volatile matter, moisture, particle size distribution, bulk density, pH, and other relevant parameters.

- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and upkeep of all laboratory instruments and equipment (XRF, LOI furnaces, sieves, moisture analysers, etc.).

- Develop and standardise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all test methods and lab processes.

- Maintain accurate lab records, test logs, and databases; generate timely reports for production and quality teams.

- Ensure the laboratory complies with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and applicable accreditation standards (e.g., NABL, ISO 17025).

- Manage laboratory inventory including chemicals, reagents, glassware, and consumables;coordinate procurement as needed.

- Train, mentor, and supervise lab technicians and assistants to maintain competency and consistency in testing.

- Support R&D; trials by conducting specialised tests and providing analytical data for new product development and process optimisation.





- Liaise with external laboratories for third-party testing and inter- laboratory comparison studies when required.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.

- 3-7 years of experience managing or working in an industrial testing laboratory, preferably in minerals, graphite, carbon products, or chemical manufacturing.

- Strong hands-on expertise with laboratory instruments and analytical techniques relevant to mineral analysis.

- Knowledge of laboratory accreditation frameworks (NABL / ISO 17025) is highly desirable.

- Understanding of graphite product specifications and industry quality benchmarks is a strong advantage.
