Purpose/Objective The QA Chemist/Technician is tasked with performing precise chemical analyses and quality assessments to ensure the integrity and compliance of our copper refining processes.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of chemical processes, and the ability to apply scientific principles to real-world applications.

The incumbent will be instrumental in maintaining product quality, optimizing laboratory operations, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards, contributing directly to the reliability and success of our production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of Role

QA Chemist / Technician – Copper Production Planning and Execution: - Conduct routine and non-routine chemical analyses on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications.

- Prepare chemical solutions for use in the laboratory, ensuring accuracy in the concentrations used for testing. Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement: - Continually assess laboratory processes for opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.

- Initiate projects that apply lean laboratory principles to decrease cycle times and reduce costs. Quality Assurance and Control: - Implement rigorous control checks throughout the testing phases to catch discrepancies early and ensure the reliability of final results.

- Update quality control procedures and standards to align with industry changes and technological advancements. Equipment Monitoring and Troubleshooting: - Systematically review the performance and maintenance logs of laboratory instruments to prevent unexpected failures.





- Lead the troubleshooting and minor repair of analytical instruments to ensure minimal disruption in laboratory operations. HSE and Regulatory Compliance: - Conduct monthly safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the laboratory.

- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of environmental regulations affecting chemical handling and disposal. Reporting and Data Analytics: - Compile detailed analytical reports that summarize findings, highlight trends, and support the decision-making processes.

- Enhance report visualization by incorporating advanced data presentation techniques to better communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders. Digitisation and Tech Adoption: - Evaluate and recommend new laboratory information management systems (LIMS) to improve workflow and data integrity.

- Lead the integration of automation in sample preparation and testing procedures to increase throughput and reduce manual intervention. Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification: B.

Sc.

in Chemistry or related field Work Experience (Range of years): 1-3 years in the Copper Refinery industry Certifications: Certification in laboratory quality assurance or chemical analysis preferred
